The Bachelor of Art in Art is offered in conjunction with the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Our creative campus embodies our school's philosophy, and is the place where we embrace DESIGN AHEAD as the school's ethos, always at the forefront and embracing the academic responsibility of setting new design standards in various areas. It is the place where we commit to CRAFT, reflected in our facilities, and foster a CREATIVE ECOSYSTEM, where we not only create but also distribute what's created to make an impact through exhibitions, publications, and more.

No look at Los Angeles architecture history would be complete without mention of the Hollywood Bowl, which remains one of the city’s most popular entertainment venues. The outdoor amphitheater is situated within a natural auditorium, leading to its popularity for outdoor festivals and events. The Theme Building at LAX International Airport looks more like an alien movie prop from nearby Hollywood than an actual building.

You’ll recognize some of them from films but we’ve included some hidden gems as well. Samatha Williams’s Tearoom in the Gatehouse is brimming with vintage charm and elegant accents. Working with Jacqueline Black and Michelle Porreca, Williams brought in a Chinoiserie wall covering to give the space a garden-like atmosphere. They also installed a grass cloth ceiling treatment and sisal rug to add texture. Designer Ashleigh Miranda focused on juxtaposing technology and earthy elements in her moody media room.
The name Assembledge+ was deliberately chosen to convey the firm’s passion for “assembling” all the often-complex elements of the design process to produce an architecture that is precise, considered, and of exceptional quality. The + signifies an approach that looks at the whole combination of interrelated parts and that architecture is more than drawings and an arrangement of building materials. It includes the process of collaboration with clients, specialist consultants and builders.

Under the direction of Rosemary Brantley, this program is considered one of the top fashion design programs of its kind in the U.S.[15] Otis Fashion Design is housed at the California Market Center in downtown Los Angeles. Students benefit from working closely with design mentors and are trained in all aspects of the design process while emulating a fashion design studio, and following the industry's seasonal schedule. Visiting critics have included designers such as Bob Mackie, Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, Vera Wang, Diane von Fürstenberg, Isabel Toledo, Isaac Mizrahi, and Todd Oldham.[16] Major designers such as Eduardo Lucero and Rick Owens are alumni of the program. Atelier Scale is a landscape studio that focuses on people’s livelihood with the power of design. It aims to explore the relationship within different scales in landscape, that is, to find creative solutions and expressions from the relationships between the whole and parts, groups and individuals.

The structure was designed to be reminiscent of early monasteries with its inornate exterior surface and cavernous yet inviting interior. An office space in the Gatehouse is now a soothing spa-inspired lounge designed by Margaret Lalikian. The designer referenced the house’s original name, El Robles—Spanish for oak tree—with a tree-filled landscape mural by Arpy Dabbaghian. “For the wall mural, I had to pick something to bring them into nature and a calming environment,” Lalikian says. We prepare serious photographers to serve as cultural leaders of the 21st century. Our studios and seminars explore historic traditions, wide-ranging techniques, recent innovations, and the role of the contemporary photographer.
And when you have been around the volatility of the crypto space for some time, it’s more important to look at the bottoms than the peaks. You have to remember that only 5 years ago, there was $0 of art being traded on the blockchain, and now, despite a 80% drawdown, the blockchain is host to billions of $ of art transactions per year. ‘The media has done a good job of creating clickbait news items that have put NFTs and $ in the same headline, but not exploring the deeper significance of the art being made,’ says the artist. Around that time, Mathieu found himself spending time at Grand Rue studios in downtown Port-au-Prince, and started making sculptures from discarded pieces found around the city that explored the spiritual essence of Haitian life. The project is all the more impressive given that it is the architects’ first ever building.

The third graduate degree offered at USC Roski is the MA in Curatorial Practices and the Public Sphere, a platform for scholarship in contemporary art. The program aims to bring students to a high level of understanding of the history and theory of curatorial practices, with attention paid to questions of how curating activates art in relation to a range of audiences and interacts with diverse communities.
The Roski School of Art and Design offers minors in art and design as supplements to major fields of specialization in other departments and schools for students whose academic programs do not permit the opportunity to pursue one of the school’s regular degree options. There are seven intensive studio minors — in painting, drawing, photography, ceramics, sculpture, two-dimensional studies and intermedia arts — and four interdisciplinary minors in communication design, 3-D design, performance art and visual narrative art. There is a separate application for Roski minors available at roski.usc.edu/academic/minors. At the graduate level, the MFA in Fine Arts program is recognized nationally for its breadth and intensity, as well as for a faculty of renowned practicing artists.
